12-time Nathan’s Hot Dog eating champ, and the world’s #1 ranked competitive eater Joey Chestnut is finally getting some recognition as a first-class athlete. Nike has announced plans to release a Joey Chestnut sneaker and get this, it will be made with hot dogs!

The Chestnut 1’s will feature a design that beams with the same green and yellow of Nathan’s Hot Dogs branding, with a gold shield on the hind of the sneaker to symbolize Chestnut’s championships. The flexible and durable fibers used in its design will emulate the expansion necessary for Chestnut’s belly during eating competitions for max comfort, but the sole of the shoe is what sneakerheads may be most curious about. A thoroughly blended combo of Phylon and all-American, all-beef frankfurters will rest underneath the foot. Yes, these shoes will be made of hot dogs and yes, they will be a thing to surely “relish”!

“I couldn’t be more excited for this sneaker to hit stores,” said Chestnut. “I can only imagine the lines that’ll form around the block at stores for these things! I think it’s great that I get to team with Nike on this, who time and again have proven they are a ruthless global company that utilizes sweatshop labor but who also stands behind Colin Kaepernick.”

Nike had no immediate comment, but posted an image of Chestnut on Instagram with the caption “Hungry?” A buzz immediately began to form as sneaker fans took to Twitter to remark on the partnership:

“Joey Chestnut got that Nike money like I got wet poops from eating Nathan’s!” Tweeted user @TimmyTheAsian

“Hot dogs on your feet probs the same as when they use feet to make hot dogs” Tweeted user @BlacktainMarvel

And popular blogger/famed sneaker aficionado @ShadowFat40 had this to say:

“Um, yeah, I’m not gonna buy those” followed by a GIF of Rihanna rolling her eyes.

Nike hasn’t released an official statement announcing the partnership or a release date for the sneakers, but stay tuned and stay hungry!
