Mark your calendars! Coming this summer Viceland will begin airing “Julia Child is Deadass Back on TV”. The innovative new cooking show will star a hologram of the famed chef, whipping up modern dishes, while a wisecracking sidekick (the guy who plays Jason from that show The Good Place) provides commentary from a side booth.
According to the network, which is an offshoot of the publication Vice, the goal is to tackle modern cuisine in a unique way, while exposing younger audiences to Ms. Child, not to mention freaking everyone out with this fucked up new technology.
“It just makes sense to have a cooking show on TV, but like, one that’s hosted by a hologram of Julia Child. We originally wanted to use Gordon Ramsay but someone said he wasn’t dead. What a fuckin’ douche, right?” – Executive producers Jone$ Bibbz!Ⓡ and Moneydick Fuckwad
“Yeah, so like, pretty much, we were tired of watching all these shows on Vice of people tripping out in the woods and figuring themselves out,” says executive producers Jone$ Bibbz!Ⓡ and Moneydick Fuckwad in a joint statement. “It just makes sense to have a cooking show on TV, but like, one that’s hosted by a hologram of Julia Child. We originally wanted to use Gordon Ramsay but someone said he wasn’t dead. What a fuckin’ douche, right?”
The network has aired food-related programming in the past with “Fuck, That’s Delicious”, “The Pizza Show“, and “It’s Suppertime!”, among others, but this new venture marks the first time the network will rely on the services of a hologram to deliver the goods. Viewers will be treated to Child’ signature accent, but more importantly, her warm approach to cooking, while simultaneously fearing a dystopian future where no one thinks for themselves.
In terms of some of the dishes we can expect to see, Viceland executives have mentioned modern favorites such as gluten-free vegan pepperoni pizza and avocado toast parmigiana as just a few of the recipes episodes will center on. Fun!
